Your PA business insurance may come in handy if your business is ever sued. To avoid such situations, it is important to understand the responsibility you owe to your employees, to your customers, and even to trespassers.

Employees have been hired by your business to complete a specific task. Because you have asked them to be on the premises, you owe it to your workers to provide them with a safe work environment. You cannot purposely put them in harm’s way. You also need to notify them of potential hazards.

Your duty to your customers is similar to that owed to your employees. You must ensure the premises are safe and accessible. You also need to post warning signs of any dangers located on your property.

With trespassers, the situation is different. You owe them no legal duty, until their presence is known. Once you are aware of their being on your property, you must do what you can to prevent them from coming to harm, although you do have the right to defend yourself, your family, and your property.

It is important that you not only live up to the duties and responsibilities required of you by law, but you also need to prepare for the worst by purchasing PA business insurance. Without it, you could find yourself paying several thousand dollars or more in medical and legal fees should an accident occur on your premises.
